I am an Assistant Professor at the Economic History Department, University of Barcelona. Previously, I was a full-time professor at the School of Production and Competitiveness (Bolivian Catholic University “San Pablo”). I received a Ph.D. (Cum Laude) in Economic History from the University of Barcelona in 2013 for a thesis on the evolution of Bolivian Public Finances from 1882 to 2010. I published different articles in international journals including Resources Policy, Economics & Human Biology, Cliometrica, Journal of Latin American Studies, Journal of Institutional Economics, Sustainability, Revista de Historia Económica and Economic History of Developing Regions. I published eight books and contributed to several chapters of books published by Palgrave, Routledge, Springer and Fondo de Cultura Económica. One of my articles was awarded best article published in international journals by the Spanish Association of Economic History.
